Painting Watercolour Flowers that Glow || Jan Kunz

Again, not a new book, but a welcome reissue and a more sensible title for the UK market than the original Painting Watercolour Florals that Glow.

Jan Kunz paints flowers that look realistic without being botanical illustrations and have a softness to them that suggests movement and light, and she offers a series of tips such as Painting Lush Greens, Glazing to Create a Distance, and Backlighting as well as looking in more detail at a number of specific flower types.

If you want to be able to paint flowers that look like flowers, but without going down the flower portrait route, then this is the perfect guide. Beginners will probably find they want something a little more elementary but, if you’re looking for the next stage, this should do it and you may find it’ll take you as far as you want to go.
