Wonderful Ways With Wax || Jann Visser

Encaustic art isn’t new, but there’s a fresh feeling to this guide that should bring it many converts.

Jann Visser starts from the very beginning, introducing materials, equipment and techniques and showing that relatively little investment is required at this stage. The remainder – the bulk, in fact – of the book is devoted to a series of projects which demonstrate abstracts, landscapes and decorative work as well as the production of celebration cards and the use of textures and embellishments. The results that she produces show that painting with wax is far from being just a novelty act and can produce subtle and beautiful results.

A list of suppliers would have been useful, but that’s a minor quibble.
